Video Volunteers community correspondent Shambhulal Khatik worked with the local authorities to solve water-related issues of a small village in Delwara, Rajasthan.
A village of 20-30 families, Majera ki bheel basti had water supply to satiate the needs of the small community. However, in absence of a storage tank all water would get wasted and create a sluge in the common pathways of the village. The villagers would also not be able to come back for water in case they needed more.
Shambhu worked with the community and wrote an application to the local tehsildar, who promptly installed a water storage tank, pipes and taps for easy use. Now the community is happy that they have sufficient water while not wasting any drop.
